Description
While many people would consider the Rolex Sea-Dweller a model of its own category today, it was once regarded as a subdivision of the Submariner model. Back in the 1960s, when Rolex was designing a watch to withstand the overpowering pressure and assist divers in deep water operations, Rolex took the module of the reference 5513 and incorporated a Helium Escape Valve, and thus it became the original concept of the now iconic Sea-Dweller.
